Some Beach, Somewhere

Let me tell you what I could use right now: a beach, a cocktail and a cool breeze. And if you don’t agree then you must be living in a different year than me and I would love to know what yours is like. 2020 has been some beach, to put it politely.

Instead of dwelling on our current reality, let’s look to the future! Here is a list of some of the most fabulous Caribbean beaches + stylish stays to fulfill your wanderlust (actually, isn’t it just lust at this point?).

SHELL BEACH, ST. BARTH’S
VILLA MARIE HOTEL

If you know me, you know I am a sucker for St. Bart’s. Far from tranquil- Shell Beach is perfect for the extrovert who is seeking a scene after weeks inside the house. Sip (one too many) cocktails at the lively Shellona Restaurant- I recommend a few apps here too- (don’t be turned off by Greek food on a French island, just go with it, it’s delicious) or simply enjoy the shores on your own, this beach is a favorite for locals and Bart’s loyalists.

Villa Marie doesn’t sit on Shell Beach, but that doesn’t mean you’ll be missing out. Set in the hillside, it’s an island-colonial inspired haven. Soak in the party on the beach, but the charm of Villa Marie will draw you back by night.

MAUNDY’S BAY, ANGUILLA
BELMOND CAP JULUCA

Maundy’s Bay is widely considered the best beach on Anguilla and no matter what accommodation you choose at Belmond Cap Juluca, you’ll wake up looking at it. This stylish sanctuary is made for relaxation- from oversized bathrooms to pampering butlers, exquisite dining and rejuvenating spa treatments. Just save some time for the beach! It’s why you came, after all.

SEVEN MILE BEACH, GRAND CAYMAN
PALM HEIGHTS

Seven Mile Beach has long been a favorite beach of many, loved for its crystal-clear water and literal miles white-sand. The Palm Heights hotel is a welcome addition on Grand Cayman, finally answering the prayers of those seeking a stylish and kid-free getaway. Just pack accordingly- Palm Heights may be a newcomer, but it boasts a strong resume within the fashion world- having already been the backdrop to shoots by Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.

GOODING’S BAY, BARBADOS
COBBLER’S COVE

A pastel dream on the beach, Cobbler’s Cove is covered in pinstripes set among verdant tropical gardens. Perfect for those who love the atmosphere of an English country house- with a tinge of Caribbean cool- and definitely better weather.

HERMITAGE BAY, ANTIGUA
HERMITAGE BAY RESORT

Maybe it’s time to reignite the spark after 70+ days in quarantine. Hermitage Bay is the perfect spot for Honeymoon 2.0 when the world re-opens to international travel. Hermitage Bay is an all-inclusive resort— but don’t let that turn you off. Food focused is part of the resort description and most of the ingredients are grown on property, plus meals are served a la carte. I recommend the Hillside Pool Suites for added privacy. Cheers!
