Have the House to Yourself

I get it, the walls of the house probably feel like they are starting to close in. We are at what, 100+ days and counting now? It’s not looking promising at this point. If you feel the draw of travel appealing to you, but the thoughts of a busy hotel have you fraught- there may be an answer you haven’t considered. Home rentals are on the rise in the world of COVID-19. And these are not just any old house.

There are luxury homes to rent in virtually every corner of the U.S.- plus the Caribbean, Mexico, Europe (fingers crossed on heading there anytime soon), and load of other places. With pools, eclectic interiors, rambling yards, and enviable locations- home renting allows you the experience of living somewhere you’ve always desired, even for just a short time. If you’ve only rented through VRBO or Airbnb, you’re in for a treat. Many luxury homes come with housekeeping and concierge service included in their rates—plus the ability to add on amenity services like private chef, activities, car rental and laundry services.

The biggest misconception is that most people think a private home rental will break the bank, and it is really not true. Yes, there are some sprawling estates for rent- but there are also plenty of unique, well-appointed homes available for a low price—but that will feel like a splurge.

I’m well aware that this year is not heading in the direction that we thought we may be by now, but there are still possibilities out there. And if virtual school or work from home- or both!- are in your future, consider the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel with your children, or your friends and rent a home in a spectacular destination for what may be a much-needed change of scenery. If the idea of traveling is still uneasy for you, I understand. The pictures are still fun to enjoy!

Please keep in mind that entry restrictions and re-opening phases in many U.S. states, Caribbean islands and foreign countries are changing daily. I encourage you to seek the guidance of a travel advisor before booking a home rental. Luxury home rentals are available in many more destinations that shown above.
